about

Before this album was even an idea, I gave a 10-song demo to Tyson to listen to, and he gave me this song back; completely arranged with keyboard parts and effects. He wrote "Shabadequa" on the disk as a song title (I didn't include song titles on the demo I gave him). When I asked where he got the title, he said that "Sha-ba-de-qua" was what my cello part sounded like to him and he kept singing it over and over around the house in a low operatic voice. So that's what he called it. Thanks to Tyson, this album became a reality. He said that my songs really inspired him, and he wanted to flesh them out. He had a whole vision for the album, and said that these songs could be the soundtrack for the book "House of Leaves" by Mark Danielewski, (which is what I titled another song on the album where Tyson reads a passage from the book). I am very lucky to have someone like him in my life; someone who can inspire and encourage me in the way that he does.
