about

I thought about coming up with a really cool fictional story about this piece. Something like: "The song Nine was inspired by the nine levels of the Norse mythological underworld where the former gods of Asgard endlessly battle the demon-wolf that threatens to swallow the world". haha. Actually, this song was track 9 on the demo that I gave out, but wound up being track 4 on the album, so go figure. Besides the brilliant guitar and percussion Jeff and Tyson added to the piece, another part that adds some interest is the solo electric cello in the middle of the song. I play a 6-string electric cello and that part is played very high on the highest string. It sounds really cool, but was difficult to do. I discovered I didn't like playing up in that range after breaking that string during a rehearsal. Since then, I've left that string off my electric cello and am much happier for it. I'm looking into getting a 5-string cello instead. If you'd like to help me out, please buy this record; I need to sell about 200 of them. Thanks!
